Hello

what does "Waste" mean in the Economy Advisor Screen? I found nothing in the manual.

Waste is production lost due to various factors. Could be transport or something like that. It is just resources that are lost.

It is a factor to make running large empires difficult (actually, extremely difficult), reflecting the historical facts plus the designer's prejudices. (hehe) Waste kicks in somewhere around 18 provinces, although I think protectorates count as less that conquereds.

You can't actually DO anything to reduce waste - other than liberate some conquereds and/or give some provinces away. [Consider this latter - you could trade 3 shitty ones for something on your goals list, perhaps...)

I often have less than 18 provinces and I still get a lot of waste. I dont think there is any real threshold that I've seen.

Also, it seems to attack the most needed resources the most. My 'waste' for Spain in Textiles is often 50-60% of my total production...[8|]

Hmm.. "corruption" is a more precise description of the waste at this scale. :p

I tried reinstating the Inquisition for officials that waste my resources....so far, no help though.

Have you ever tried to change the tax rate? The level of waste changed with it. The finger of blame should point to the IRS. :p
