disappointed in shipping status

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

disappointed in shipping status

I ordered online on 7/1 at noon and here it is 4PM on 7/2 and ship status is "pending." Oh, did I mention that I paid $16 for UPS overnight?

Your order may have come in too late on the 1st (Friday) to ship out the same day, unfortunately. It won't ship out Saturday, Sunday or Monday (national holiday) so unfortunately due to the holiday weekend it will likely ship out to you on Tuesday and arrive Wednesday.

Out of curiosity, why isn't it possible for those who buy the boxed game to be allowed to download it immediately if they so choose? Personally, I think it would be nice to have a boxed copy with a printed manual, but I am too impatient to wait for it. The best of both worlds would be to buy the boxed set but be able to download and play immediately. It seems like the additional bandwidth cost for allowing it would be negligible and setting up the process to support it would be a one time cost that really isn't too bad. Even if those were covered by pushing the cost of the boxed set up by a dollar, I suspect most people would be happy to pay that extra buck and many of them would likely end up saving money since that would eliminate the need to pay for overnight or 2-day shipping. Anyway, just curious...

The boxed version does not have a printed manual, does it? I don't believe so.

I'm not sure I understand you - we already do have an option for both download and boxed copy. It's only if you specifically choose "physical only" rather than "physical plus digital" that you are not able to download. The digital + physical price is the same as the physical only price.

- Erik

doh! my bad. That's what I get for not taking a thorough looks at things before going off half cocked. Sorry.

OK, with that being the case then, why are people complaining about slow shipping times? [&:]

Some of us still use the "standard" dialup system, so downloading 400mb games could take days. So, that's why they offer digital with boxed version, although you still don't get a printed manual and that suks big time in my book.

Im going to buy from NWS aswell.

£27 instead of near £40!

I bought BiI from MAtrix the other day. Download and Physical. It came to a rather outstanding price after VAT. So NWS from now on.

I went (using UK icon) for d/l and boxed for £36 (included parasitic charges - CAP etc!!).
At least I have it [;)] D/l took about 1 hr (BB 512).

Nothing like who got? I didn't pay the $16.

Anyways, it's not like FIVE games for that $16 is the second coming either.

Oh, did I mention that I paid $16 for UPS overnight?

Now that's funny in your very first post you directly stated you paid $16 and now in your last post you are saying you didn't pay $16. So, if you didn't pay $16 then why are you complaining that you paid $16 extra? eh? ;)

It may just be a game, but it is only the second one to come out in a long time that caught my interest (I HATE RTS) so you old-timers may understand my frustration. I was hoping to have it to play on the long weekend. TBS gamers and those with slow connections will understand. [:D]

All those who have fast internet connections that permit digital download, those of you who LIKE RTS games and have lots of game to choose from, and those of you who have lots of time to play the games games that you like, need not sympathize with my frustration...[:'(]

In any event, thanks for sharing. [:)]
