Communication about broken trade routes

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Communication about broken trade routes

Post by Beorn »

I wish that, when a trade route is broken, that the report gave the specific trade. It would be very handy to immediately know "Hey, I just lost 6 textile imports, and I now have 6 extra luxuries to trade."

A minor quibble, but I also wish the game would be consistent about calling areas by city or province names. You make trade agreements by province name, but trade routes are broken by city name. Makes it tougher to keep track of.

My trouble is instead that I had many trade proposals fluttering to me at each turn. I tried to resort to the "Set Policy" function, and it didn't help.

Set policy has been a little weird for me. It cuts down the totally useless offers by a large percent, but there are usually one or two. I've just decided that, as it is, I have to be very clear in my mind (or on paper) what I want and what I can spare.
