Raid on Ceylon

Post by mogami »

I am still laughing so hard it is difficult to type. After securing the central pacific islands and advanceing to Espirtu Santo I was using the small carriers to aid down their and the 6 fleet carriers were back in Tokyo. The British carriers kept hitting my supply runs to Rangoon so I sent the fleet carriers there. The Brits must have withdrawn then before I got there so I attacked Columbo and Tricomble and sank a pile of tankers then losing my mind I sent them to bomb Calcutta...the TF commander bombed Decca on his own as well as Calcutta, I had 2 carriers damaged by land based ac but boy did they sink some merchants then I think every ship the Brits had made a run for Australia and my land based bombers had a field day

It's hilarious isn't it!

I've had very similar scenario's where I've sunk all the british carriers and sent their mcs and destroyers making a run for it to Australia. I've purposely placed heaps of bomber groups all over sumatra and indonesia so when they pass by, I end up sinking some more. To top it all off, once they've docked in Australia, I'll have long range betty's stationed in Timor sinking what remains of the British TF's!!!.

The AI is too stupid to make the brit TF's take the long route like right away from sumatra and indonesia to Australia. Hopefully this new patch will fix that problem since this version has removed the sea path limits.
