Well at that rate it'll take a month to pump the flooded compartments empty...[:D]

What's the general census?...3 more months of repairs after that?

is not fear to send now my KB, to sink it,, i could sink it when my KB hit Achilles, in the next turn, but i decided, to see also if he can make it,, so Achilles recieves almost 20 bombs (250 kg), no torps where launched

So japan forces are proud of how Achilles fight[&o], hope makes too

Three months won't be enough for a complete repair.

Hmm, perhaps I don't fully understand the System damage then...It would seem that as damage accumulates it get exponentially more difficult to repair. Not sure though, haven't seen a definition of it.

Also, slightly OT but what is Durability based on? I would guess that it was based on sheer tonnage, compartmentilisation, and metal quality.

Then I look at the Yamato (185) and Iowa (190) for example. Yamato weighs in at 72,809 tons (full load). Iowa at 52,000 tons (full load). Been unable to find any evidence that Yamato had far less WTC's than the Iowa did and even with inferior steel I don't think it would account for these durability ratings. Armor isn't included since it is a different (independent) factor in the game. Seakeeping was better on the Yamato if anything from what I've read...so I just don't know...[:'(]

The hull will survive, but with 99 system damage and all engines completely shot, it will be a long time before she can even more under her own power, let alone fight.

As long as the DC parties don't use the Japanese method (Keep drilling new holes to let the water out) it may survive.

Personally I would start putting on my life vest.

Well, first there was a night naval battle at lunga. The allies squadron of 3 cruisers and 5 destroyers went up against a Jap battle group of 1 BB, 2 CL's and 8 DD's. Houston ate a lance and got hit hard, some goes for that french DD (sank). Achillie's got of lightly with only 2/3 hits by the DD's. In return I hit 3 DD's hard (one got a torp hit).

After the combat my force retreated, but still got hit by an airstrike from carriers in the lunga hex. As it was at 5 hexes, no torps where used but houston got hit by 30 250Kg boms and sank, Achillies took most of her damage there, got hit by 15-20 250 KG bombs and BARELY managed to limp into the nearest harbour where she is now.......

STOP HIGHJACKING MY TREAD !!!!, [:D][:D][:D]

I haven't gotten in a new turn in yet, so no way to now if it is dead yet. hmmmmm.

This clears the way for some interesting thoughts, If the fait of my cruiser is deceided by a single diceroll, a "quantum state of sort" it COULD be possible that it is both sunk AND still afloat at the SAME time.

(this argument works better for a cat in a box, but WHO cares [;)])

If anybody is interested, flooding has gone, sys damage down to 95%, Speed up to 2 knots. In Noumea (level 9 port) with 2 AR's...

I also noted that part of the sys damage was repaired AT SEA while underway with the 2 AR's to Noumea, maybe AR's also repair in a TF at sea ?????
