PBEM NEWBIE

Post by munited18 »

All:
I have never played a PBEM game, but am pretty expercienced in war games. So, I have a few questions and I thought this would be a good place to ask them:
1. How quickly are turns usually handled? One a day or more?
I ask because of things like the job, wife, baby on the way scenarios!
2. Are there special rules for PBEM? I understand that everything is quick combat, but am unaware of anything else..
3. Can tehre be up to 8 players in a PBEM? Thought would be awesome to have all the nations human...
4. I am sure there are lots of things you veterans can tell me so please do!
I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say and then to maybe play a PBEM or two!!

pablo, do you want to set it all up? I am at work and will be until about 630pm CST. I could jump on it when I got home if the turn was waiting for me. What are the procedures of a PBEM? If you could walk me through it would be great! I don't care what country or time period, I just want the knowledge!

Do you need another player? I'm a total noob but would enjoy a pbem learning experience.

I am interested and can do my turn after 7pm Central Standard time for a slow paced PBEM. Anyone want to start it up?

I am interested if you still need players. I am from the bay area in CA. Have played strategy games off an on and I appreciate a fun and enjoyable game. Have never done PBEM before but would like to try. A slower paced game interests me as well...new born and eight year old.

That's six of us. I suggest we pick countries; I'll have last pick, and then get things moving![:D]

I would like to play as well. I just got the game and am figuring it out.

What Scenario? Standard

Sides: I would like to play Russia if possible.

Game length: 5 years
Victory: Most Glory at the end?

Email is sleens@epixremove.net

I could setup the game if everyone lists what sides they want to play.

I will take Prussia if that is all right, but I have no real preferen. Scenario details are whatever everyone else wants. This is mostly just a PBEM tutorial for me! [;)]

I would like to play Prussia or Britain but am willing to play as any country if somebody else wants those.

I am still in the "figuring out" stage as well so a shorter game of five years is ok with me. Standard and most glory are also ok with me.

You got in first so if you want Prussia that's OK with me. Either way is fine. You choose.

Prussia it is for me then. Is Fredrick the Great still alive in the 1805 scenario?

We've got Russia, Turkey, Britain and Prussia.

Could use an Austria and a France.

I only suggested Standard Scenario as there is documentation from Ralegh on setup and first turns for each of the nations, which should give us a good start. I suspect we will not get through one year without wanting to restart as we learn about the game and the PBEM system.

So I have.

MarcelJV = Russia email sleens@epixremove.net
Munited18 = Britian emal: munited18@hotmailremove.com
Jordan = Prussia
Krec = Turkey email: kevyrec@sbcglobalremove.net

How long do you want to wait to see if we get others?

Email addresses will be need to move the files around.
