Questions about the digital download

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Questions about the digital download

Post by Kokopelli »

Greetings all! I have been searching for an indepth, Napoleonic style wargame for a while now. While I have Cossacks and Imperial Glory, it seems CoG is more indepth than the other titles that I have.

I plan to purchase the digital download, but have a few questions about.

How large is the file? Is it something that can be saved to a CD or will I have to keep it on my HDD? Reason I ask, is my drive space limited and I would hate to have an HDD crash and be out of a $40.00 file. Which brings me to the next question. If I buy it while I am at work, can I later access it from home to dl/install it? And the last question, is if I have to reinstall it or if I want to install it on a notebook, does it work like a regular piece of CD software or am I stuck using it on the system it was purchased for?

Sorry if the questions sound retarded, but just checking.

I think that's a fair assessment.

Clicking on "More Info" for a title in the store should show you it's download size in the File Download Stats section near the top. In this case, it's 415Mb.

No problem saving it to a CD. You can definitely download it at work, then burn it to a CD and bring it home. You can run it on up to two computers as long as you are the user and don't use them at the same time. It works like a regular installer and can be installed on multiple machines with no problem, the only limitation is in the license.

Please note also that it's important to keep the serial number you get with the title in a safe place (write it on the burned CD and print it out and store it in a file folder, I would recommend) as this is the only form of protection. The serial number does not lock it to a machine, but it is your serial number and will be needed if you need to reinstall or install future updates.
