Can you not destroy armies that are empty???

The Russians have an empty army sitting in Montpellier that I cannot destroy or get rid of!!!

Is it an army or a stack of diplomats/generals? (Or an army with really low strength?)

The expected behavior is that empty armies/corps are disbanded if they ever end their turn in enemy territory.

Yep your right eric thanks! They are not disbanding because they are in French and Prussian territory and they are allied with the French and have a free passage agreement with the Prussians...

I wish they would leave though! [:)]

i think that we can live with it until patched, the impact of an empty army in the game is small, and empty divisions automatically disband, so it is not possible to go trough enemy territory and stand in a territory and place a depot and draft forces in the empty army, is what i think, so the impact is small

As I understand it, this is not something that would be patched - it is a feature.
Empty armies in enemy territory are destroyed. Empty armies in allied or territory where they have access are permitted.

What needs to be fixed - IMHO - is that if the AI doesn't have a use for an army, perhaps it should move it to its capital, or something. Or be able to disband it.
