Feature desired - Combat and Battle Resolution

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Feature desired - Combat and Battle Resolution

Post by ahauschild »

I think two features would be nice.

Combat resolution:

This would give a window or such with the calculation factors and results for the individual combat resolution. Currently I cannot figure out why a unit at one time does tons of damage in a volley or charge, and the next time only gets 3 or 4 guys. To learn what impacts these better the combat resolution would aid.

Battle Resolution:

This is especialy importand for quick battles. Basicly it would be nice to see an account of how many units killed and captured by each side. In detailed battle I can pretty much see and remember, but in quick combat it is more of a pain to figure out what exactly happend.

This information is provided in the report at the very end of the round, before your next turn. Just scroll down and you'll find it.

I'd like to see more detail in the 'Battles' tab listing. Specifically, rather than just a number of overall casualties, I'd like to see it broken down into infantry, cavalry and artillery. Naval actions similarly could be presented in this detail.

Of course, what I'd really like to see would be casualties taken and inflicted broken down for each specific unit, so I could see exactly how well my 3rd Light Cavalry did against that routing Militia unit. I would imagine that I'm just being greedy and asking for something that is way beyond the scope of this strategic level game, though... [;)]

I like it after the battle, since then I have my thoughts on it. Sometimes i have 8 or 9 battles a month, and then i lose corelation to the standart end of turn report
