Do WIA's get healed?
I had one of my better pilots end up WIA a bit back. In checking the top pilots screen today, I find that no one is now listed at WIA. I don't remember the pilot's name. But I think I remember his number of kills and the formation he was in (7 kills, F1/3rd Datai). And there is a pilot in F1/3rd Datai listed as having 7 kills, but not WIA. Did my pilot get healed? If it works like in 12o´clock high-Bombing the Reich:YES
pilots can be wounded anywhere between one and 99 days.

Yeah - they get healed and come back to duty.
In one game, i had my top ace (a Brit) get wounded, and after some time he reappeared for duty, and on his next mission, he got wounded again.[8|] He got surpassed in kills by some large number before he got back a second time.
RE: Do WIA's get healed?
aces return, but other pilots (with 4 or less kills) do not return I think.

Aces aren't differentiated in game.
There are only two kinds of people that understand Marines: Marines and the enemy. Everyone else has a second-hand opinion.

WIAs are accounted for even if they are not aces. The Aces list only shows aces (naturally) i have had pilots come back after being wounded

It's a 'top pilots' list...not all are aces and the game couldn't care less.

I have never seen MIAs come back. In fact, their fatigue drops to zero right off, just like KIAs.
RE: Do WIA's get healed?
If it is like BtR and BoB then MIAs never come back

MIAs are treated as exactly that, Missing and or captured. There are no great escapes. They are gone period.

Hi MkXIV
BTR and BoB are games made by Gary Grisgby.
BTR - Bombing the Reich: 12 O'Clock high simulates the air attack on Nazi Germany from 43-45.
BoB - Battle of Britain simulates LW attack on Britain.
Both involved a pilot database that is similar in many ways to WiTP. In these games WIA pilots game back after their alloted number of days healing. MIA's were pilots captued by the enemy and don't come back.
Regards,
Steven

Speaking of BTR, does anyone still frequent Jeane-Claude Larusso's fantastic BTR site? I kept up with all his patches til about 2003 and then I lost the link to his site. Haven;t been able to get back to it.
Does anyone know if he is still maintaining it? Or have the link??
Thanks.

Hi Elf,
http://p081.ezboard.com/bbtrbombingthereich
yes it still is active, but things are slow at the moment, Jean-Claude is busy with real life at the moment
also a big hacker attack against ez-board did hurt - we lost 1/3 of all posts at JC´s site.
Last exe version is still more or less 1.05x6
Newest OB/OA version is 1.06
Best news at the moment is Harley´s great editor
( you can get it on his site - look at harleys profile for the adrees at the BTR forum )

RE: Do WIA's get healed?
Perhaps it was a Cognac induced haze, but I am sure I had a MIA make it back after about 30 days. (not 100% sure as I gave him up for lost, but I had an MIA on my top pilot list, and no KIAs. Later I checked, and the MIA was gone, and the KIA listed were all Navy pilots. I didnt remember the name of the MIA, but I knew he was Army?)
