A bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

A bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Post by MartNick »

Austria has surrendered to France and Spain and treaties are in place. I have the Grand Armee and several Corps and seperate units stuck in Linz. They did not auto retreat when Austria surrendered, and I cannot move any of them. Also an Austrian unit seems to be stuck in Bavaria as well. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I've had Corps get "stuck" after a surrender too.

I believe it is a bug. To continue your game, you should be able to "violate territory" and move them out of there.

Only way I could release them, was to wait for the Russians to attack. Select Quick Battle and leave all my troops in the Rout column and take the mandatory retreat to the adjacent territory.

Maybe they had really good woman and beer in that province, and your troops refused to leave?

Did you try using the 'violate territory' option and then moving them?

Hi, Just right click where you want to go and violate and move. No war starts they just protest a bit.
I get around this somewhat by always including a "I get to tread on your turf" clause in my surrender terms. You have to wait for the treaty to take effect but then you go where you want.

I'm not retreating, I'm attacking in a different direction!

Frozen Unit,,
Seems to happen when you order a unit to enter an Enemy Nation Province from one of your own and during that same turn, the enemy Nation Surrenders. Units that were already in are kicked out but any new units you ordered to go in that turn get frozen in the province you order them to go. Bug[X(]

Aha! That sounds like the explanation.
