Who said anything about playing the game. I just start it to figure out the turn order and print the manual.

I have a cube so no luck on the playing part.

OUCH!! Good point Marcel. However, there is realxed and there is R-E-L-A-X-E-D! I am only at the relaxed stage of my career..[;)]
Now, if I had the BIG corner office YOU KNOW I would have the game up and running, but I am dreaming again...[8D]

Hi.

Just to clarify something since I wasn't in the first practice turn go around yesterday.

We all do our turns and then the creator runs the full turn, I assume. Is there a report generated to each player giving them info from the turn, such as provinces won/lost, men killed/enemies killed, diplomatic agreements/denials. OR, do we just find that out when it gets to our turn again?

That's pretty much it...I understand the loading, saving, zipping, sending part. It seems like when you load a game, it would automatically load the game parameters but if we have to do it manually, that's fine.

I have 3 more hours here at work and really want to be home studying Spain as I've not played them before....really, I need to work on a lot of stuff so I don't look too noobish!

James.
Below is the turn order and the players. Here is the setup parameters:

Scenario : Standard Campaign
Difficulty

The summary that you get at the end of the normal turn I believe is presented on your player turn. There is a replay feature but I have heard it does not work with PBEM, it may be that people are not sending both the save and the rep file. Check the manual on how to use the replay function as I have not tried it. I might do a practice PBEM and see how it works.

With regard to plotting feel free to begin.
Any plotting is allowed by me.

There is no replay feature. It aint in the manual and it aint in the game. Neat idea though. The rep file is used for the event report - open it in notepad and have a look.
(And yes, Alice, you do need to send both files.)

If you guys need a fillerinnerer for someone who goes on holidays or something, use me. Best of luck, and may the politics begin!

I'm in England and will send a turn at 5pm GMT tonight. As I understand it, all settings default except victory conditions which will be the maximum allowed. Will check in here to make sure before I send. Good luck everyone!

Alright Mac, I will play the turn when I get home at about 630pm Central Standard. It will then go to Guenter, who is in Europe, and then back to California. These are going to be very interesting turn sequences!

LET'S GET IT ON!

UPDATE:

Mac has emailed me the turn and I will jump on it as soon as I make it home!
The game is under way!
Also, check out Mac's AAR in the AAR section. I hope we can all maybe contribute, without giving any clues away. If you want to that is.
Finally, I have already received a great email from one our number, and it really helped to "set the mood" for the game. I encourage everyone to do this to help keep us thinking about the game between games. Good fun!
Good Luck to everyone and......

PREPARE FOR BRITISH DOMINANCE!

Oh wait, you don't have to "prepare" for it because it's already here![:-]

Just a little warning, England. Spain has made preparations so any hasty fleet transport landings, and any help with your Portugal brethren will be foolish, as you will be focused on one front and not prepared for the other front which could materialize when you least expect it...be very careful in your endevors.

Ralegh, have a close look at Sweden as I will be on vacation in late August/early September and you will probably have to replace me for a while - just for the case no one has won the game till then. I will also be out of town this weekend from Friday to Sunday. I will make my 1st move before that, but if any action from my side should be required this weekend, I will not be available.

Thanks,
G.

OK, too bad because the weekend is where we might be able to move through some turns but we all said we wanted a slower paced game due to our schedules. Also, it's not a big deal since we've got three (4?) west coasters and two Europe so that makes for a longer turn around anyway.

I am a West coaster as well. Would be willing for a TCP game if the time
is right.

Since each turn is a month, taking a few days per turn for military planning and
diplomacy seems just fine to me.

I would be up for it, however I would have to do it such that I had scheduled nights and times, maybe a couple/three times a week....an eight year old and 7 month old will do that. My wife would be more amenable to that as well.

Best times for me are 6:00 to 7:30.

I have a buddy with an 8 and 1 year old and the only times he can play are when his wife and kids are asleep and by then I'm usually asleep.

Anytime after 5:30 Monday, wed., fri. are good for me. A bit later on the other days as I have racquetball committments.

I'll be free the next few weeks any day to play. Looking forward to my PBEM turn as Spain...I'm still working on my first turn ideas.

By the way, everyone:

You will note that I have the string "remove" in my e-mail
address. This should in fact be removed by you, the human
to get my actual address.

This practice prevents automated searchers from plucking your e-mail
address off the web and getting it on spam lists.

Its a good idea to use this practice. For instance, everyone could
have had "9999" added to their e-mail addresses on this post with
written instructions to remove the "9999" in the very same post.

I am currently in a PBEM and we are not using passwords, does that matter, and/or how do we change that?

Right-click on the map to get to the Set Policy menu.

The last choice should be about managing passwords.

You can set a password for yourself there. I recommend this because sometimes in a large game people will mistakenly send the turn to the wrong person, and he may open it without thinking, and see your position. So even if no malicious intent is involved, people can still find out things they shouldn't.

Everyone this was posted on another thread. I guess it is an individual choice so just disregard if you want..
