Corp commanders moving about?

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Corp commanders moving about?

Post by MartNick »

When in a detailed battle why do all the corp commanders seem to be commanding different troops, after I have assigned them to command particular corps? Just had a CTD as well whilst playing again in a detailed battle!

Corps commanders are assigned to a random unit within a corps. Are you saying they're put in charge of a unit outside their corps? If so, please send us screenshots of 1) the control box for the corps/army prior to battle, and 2) a screenshot of a commander assigned to the wrong corps in battle (perhaps turn the unit information overlay on to make it easier to see this--TAB key)

Here you go. I assigned Davout to command III Corp. Not sure why he is seen here commanding VI Corp. Plus III Corp didn't appear in this battle.

I am curious why the leaders was designed to be at random command of the divisions, instead of sticking to either of the divisions of their designated corps.

No: what I mean is, one-star generals are assigned randomly within their corps/armies. Corps and army commanders are also assigned randomly, but likewise within their respectice corps/armies--and they still influence all divisions within their respective corps and armies.
