Question on paths to target!

Post by PzB74 »

I'm having problems with the path chosen for my TF's. Making coordinated attacks without knowing which course the ai will choose for me makes things just so much harder.
(Playing 2 pbem games as Japan 41)

Sending Large AP's from Marcus Island towards Midway with 18kn speed should make it possible to reach the island without problems. BUT if ai sends them on a loong detour around the island , things just woun't work.

Why can't a player be allowed to plot their own course toward target?..or at least be allowed to see the actual path?

Finding out all this the hard way cost lots of ships ; ]
...as if not US CV's with radar makes life miserable enough in 42.

Anyone got a good tactic which actually works against US CVs'?

I have found for me that the best strategy when playing the Japanese is to rapidly take all of the South East and then to make sure that you capture the Santa Cruz and New Caledonia areas. Entrench yourself with several and build up the airbases. Then wait with your carriers and landbased a/c. The US will be comming. At least then you should be able to fend them off. If you can sink several of their carriers early then you should be able to win. Image
