New Aircraft Data

I have noticed significant changes in aircraft data from the original version, but the data tables in the online manual seems unchanged. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on the revised aircraft data tables from the new version?

Andrew,
I use the old INSIDEpw which produces a broadsheet with lots of information on ships, leaders, land units and aircraft.
Just use a text editor or word processor
to select the data you want and print it out.

Regarding Aircraft: The biggest single thing I have noticed is that the cost of each A/C has been ratcheted way up on the Allied side. Aircraft that had a cost factor of 4 in the "oulde Pacific War" now cost substantially more, which drastically affects production.

One "What If": "What would the effect be on the P-39 if the Army Air Corps had actually given the approval to the plane as designed, with a supercharger - instead of determining that the plane should only be normally aspirated.

BIG QUESTION: The P-38 is, from the books I have read, severly underestimated on payload and range. The books I have show not only P-38's with two 1000# bombs, but also show one dropping a torpedo. (Now factor that in to the mix). Question: Why is the payload on this bird so low?

I was able to print out the new aircraft data from the new Excel Editor. I hope this helps.

The payloads have been dropped primarily due to the reason that only Maximum palyloads at Minimum range are published. Stick 2x 1000 pound bombs on a P-38, and its range is pretty darned short. We couldn't decrease the range, as, on CAP missions it would be without its bombs, and we couldn't keep the load the same, since it would allow it to fly Maximum range with Maximum load. So, decreasing the load to the Average load was the best solution.

I can't remember why Allied aircraft have their proction costs raised so high. This might be due to the fact that they produce too many airplanes (due to their large industry).
