Scroll Speed- Suddenly "Slow Motion"

Post by Franky513 »

Hello,

I had no problems with WAW until today: I did not change anything on my computer, but suddenly, the map scroll speed is always VERY slow, just like slow motion. Yesterday, this problem did not occur.

As you can see in my dxdiag, my computer should be fast enough for WAW.

Any hints? Please help me, the game is nearly unplayable, since it takes several minutes to scroll from Europe to Japan... [:(]

Ciao Frank

Try resetting the scroll speed setting in the preference screen. Actually click on the number and type a new number in (try 3 or 4).
All understanding comes after the fact.

I've had the same problem, even had the scrolling slow-down only affect a portion of the total map, meaning the scrolling would be fine if the map was on Europe, but Asia would be very slow.

As a workaround, I just put up the world map and click on it to move around instead if I need to scroll more than a few territories.

EDIT: Oh no, it's my fault. [X(]

In the manual, you can read:

"Scroll Speed: This sets the scroll speed of the map, which is the time in seconds it takes
to scroll across the world one time. The value can be from 1 to 30 seconds."

I always thought that a value of "30" is faster scrolling than an value of "1"... [8|]
Now, it works fine again.
