Well, CC6 by Destineer is going to be a 3D game, so maybe you should get that upgrade.

E

Ever since I got married and had kids 5 years ago, the time and budget for wargaming have been drastically reduced![X(]
I'm so out of the loop now...

Did you sell the rights to CC...or where they never yours to begin with?

I wonder what it would take for Take-2 to sell me the rights to Rising Sun.....I'd LOVE to implement that engine into Uncommon Valor's ground combat....

If I had any spare time that is....[:(]

Hey, that's a nice gaming package you got there....literally hundreds of hours of game time there!

Do me a favor and download this user-made scenario for EF II and tell me what you think:
http://www.wargamer.com/ef/wg-scenarios/volga.zip

I just wish I HAD hundreds of hours !! [:(] I bought Crown of Glory and Falklands War 1982 on release but havn't even got past the tutorials yet in either. A fortnight's leave in a couple of weeks, thank goodness, and with Mrs Herts away time for some serious gaming [:D] I'll try and give your scenario a go then.

Hmmm, the government 3D shooter market is where the money is......very low stress too.

E

NICE [8|]

How is it that making a training tool for American BOYS going into COMBAT low stress.

Some of us have friends and family over there , we don't really need to hear GAME designers are looking at the quick CASH that can be had off the goverment.

Do me and the Military a favor stick to games

I hear ya brother....being a family guy has killed my time for wargames too...
When I was singular...I'd buy a new game every week!

However, this past year I've bought exactly ONE game....Uncommon Valor.

Oh, and did I say those games you got will give you hundreds of hours o' joy?
I meant to say THOUSANDS![X(] The Linked Campaigns alone will waste many a day away...
I will tell you to stay away from playing the Dynamic Campaigns....there's a bug that was never fixed....
Basically after awhile, your auxillary forces will start showing up with 1 Strength Point....[:@]

Also that scenario I want you to have a look at isn't mine per se....I just convinced the guy that made it to post it to the public...

It's totally unplayable unless you still live in your mom's basement and have NO connections to the outside world.....it is, in a word, MONSTROUS![:)]

But it's just beautiful to look at....I can't describe it...[:D]

I think he meant it's stress is much lower compared to having a publisher, (like oh maybe MICROSOFT) breathing down your neck to get the damn game done already....

If you've ever played any of his games you've gotta admit the psychological aspect of warfare is portrayed brilliantly....

I'm sure our boys are in great hands...

Well, I could comment on how inane your above statement was.............but I will not.

Stress level is reduced significantly in regards to hours worked, money issues of all sorts, design and feature changes not to mention other pressures from the publisher or other outside forces such as users on forums, etc;

Unless you've seen some of the Tactical Decision Simulators from DAS or other companies such as Atomic, Destineer or CSOSimtek, I would advise you to hold your 'opinion' close until you can speak on the subject.

IIRC, the Mad Bunny stated Microsoft was the best company/people he ever worked with...........I saw only some of the horrors he had to go through with SF. ;)
The infantry doesn't change. We're the only arm of the military where the weapon is the man himself.

Hmm, see what I mean, first off, government shooters do not mean military shooters. The last project we did had no guns at all in it. It was like GTA without guns or weapons.

The NFA stuff we do is water hoses in a first person shooter environment.

SARGE, it ain't all about guns and Iraq.

The money is good, the stress is low, and the customer is happy. It is a win win win deal everytime.

I don't own anything, not even my name......never have owned anything.

I expect Rising Sun could be bought, but I have no idea. I have seen the source code. It would be easier writing it all over again rather than trying learn the project.

I guess I was under the false impression that you were the "Main Man" at Atomic Games....kinda like Joel B. at SSI...

So do I deduce correctly that you're working on the same government projects as the ex-founders of Talonsoft?

And if so, are there any secret plans afoot for their re-birth into the consumer wargames industry?[:D]

You, the Talonsoft trio, invite Norm Koger....and then steal away John Tiller from HPS.....DREAM TEAM!!!![8D]

Well, that was pretty much the World at War team at Avalon Hill, those where good days.

I think we would spend too much time in grognard arguments to get anything done now.

Breakaway does government sim work too, but we don't work together on any contracts.

How is it Vic that you can get all that insight from "Goverment shooter market is where the MONEY is...........very low stress too.

I don't need to see a Tactical sim from your list to state my opinion on MB statment.

I am well aware of what you and the CSO team are doing for the USMC. And having a little brother that was deployed in the USMC I will be the first one to.

THANK YOU AND THE TEAM

I have been shot at, shot, and have shot other fools in a combat hostile environment. Sarge, take a chill pill. Vic is a very in the know guy with this government stuff. Believe me, it is way more enjoyable working for the government than for a publisher.

That is not to say that we are not making some kick ass games here at DAS.

More on that in August.
