Weird Japanese Strategis AI????

I am playing a campaign as the U.S. and I am fighting my way up the Solomons and up the northern New Guinea coast when the computer decides to attack Port Morsbey, in April 43??? There had been no major carrier losses up until then, big battles around Rennel Island only beat-up both carrier fleets. Anyway the computers attack against Port Morsbey got slaughtered, 2 CV's and 4 CVL's, my carriers were not involved. It was all done by land based air!!!!

The AI need's work.

Oh I never lose Wake Island!! I am thinking about starting a game and then shipping the garrison out and see what happens! The old, old version, the orginal used to take Wake?? But not any more!!!

Hi sometime if you reinforce Wake early it will trigger the AI into attacking, but becare since they usally win this response and you lose units. Wait intill after the IJN has wrecked its self elsewhere and then send in reinforcements.
