It's a Hurr armed with 2x40mm cannons for knocking out tanks etc.
Probably belonged in Burma?

Had to edit..that was 2x40 and not 30mm guns on a Hurricane IV.
Could also be a Mk II...but 2 squadrons of Mk IVs were used in Burma.

The guy in the center (centre for you brits) seems rather malnourished, either that or he got some bad bug in the Burma forest. Someone get him some emetine (used at the time for dysentery)[;)]
Appear at places to which he must hasten; move swiftly where he does not expect you.

Is that anything like Jones, Jones, Jones, and Jones from that RAF squadron in Wales?[:D]
Take my word for it. You never want to be involved in an “International Incident”.

Maybe these were Kiwis? Guys fighting in the Solomons tended to look like this, and i think the New Zealanders were in that area, although i don't know if they flew Hurricanes there...

Don't you think they'd be flying P-40's of some flavour?

Yeah - always hear about them flying the P-40/Kittyhawk, but maybe they flew Hurc's before this? My knowledge of NZ units is admittedly slim.

If you know that they flew this sort of Hurc in the Burma theater, that would mean this mystery photo probably came from there, but i was just throwing out possibilities.

I don't think they flew the heavy-gun Hurricanes (aka Tin Openers) anywhere but in Burma and North Africa.
