Britain surrenders!

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Britain surrenders!

Post by Reg Pither »

Playing as France, I've been fighting a war against 6 of the other nations. I've taken Austrian provinces, made many diplomatic overtures to Spain, and smashed all armies that dare enter my territory. Then, out of the blue, Britain surrendered to me! I don't understand how Austria (who lost territory) and Spain (who should be my friend) kept fighting me, but Britain (who just lost a fair few troops in France) decided to offer a surrender, and not even a limited one. I'm now the proud owner of Kent and York, but it does seem odd that just losing battles causes such a dramatic capitulation of 'the most constant of my enemies'.

Perhaps there were other factors that lowered their NML that forced their government to surrender. Starvation seems pretty likely if they were trying to build a large land army to fight you.
