PBEM...fun.

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

PBEM...fun.

Post by TheRockSal »

Well, for people that haven't tried multiplayer yet, give it a shot.

I'm in 3 Pbem games and the fast one is actually moving along pretty well. Things are slowly shaping up as to alliances and strategies and it makes the game even that more fun. I've always played multi in FPS and sim games but never wargames and I can see doing it more and more after getting a taste of it.

It's ok, but the lack of a turn replay really hurts it. Of course, you can figure out what happened, but you can lose track of enemy units too easily. It's also hard to follow what happens on the seas.

I've played about a half-dozen PBEM games now, and I think there need to be human players controlling 3-4 of the major anti-French nations. Otherwise the French player wins too easily. The Allies just can't coordinate well.
