AI Diplomat Behavior.

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

AI Diplomat Behavior.

Post by Hanal »

The Russian Diplomat Rasoumoffski appears to have hitched a ride with a British Merchant Ship and has been parked on the coast of Zealand for close to a year. Is this a waste of an AI Diplomat or is there some logic behind such an action?

Perhaps it might be a bug?

There is a minor bug - the AI will 'forget' about a diplomat sometimes. I think it happens after one is kicked out from what he was trying to do, but am not sure. If people can watch for this, it will be easy for eric to fix if we can identify the circumstances that lead to it.

I might have an old save where he was flitting about in Sweden and Norway before he settled down to eat kippers with the British...If I can duplicate it, I'll notify you that I have a save......

Yep, this is an old bug that I've "fixed" about five times. It's still on my list...

And what about the enemy generals living peacefully in my lands?
In my current game Picton, Beresford and Mack have been living in France for some month after I finished off their armies. I’ve no complain for the moment, they are behaving properly as law abiding tourists. Are they retirees or what? I got once a “Picton has been detained” message, but apparently he was released shortly after, for he’s still in Anjou. I sent Fouche to talk to him about getting back to England, but to no avail, he seems determined to become a French citizen.

Yea, it looks as if they were a one-off use and would make no comeback once set back.
