Limit on upgrades? - ANSWERED thx Eric

Is there a limit to the number of upgrades one can have?

In one game I have about 26.6 available but have not had one "pop up" for several years. I have obtained 20 and stopped. Not sure if this is a bug or an undocumented feature[8|]

It would be nice to know, because my choices would be different if 20 is the max allowed!

Yes, I just double checked the code, and 20 is the hard-limit on upgrades. I have just increased it to 40 for the patch version (the final build of which I hope to make this afternoon to undergo the final round of testing).

you should be able to get more, were you still upgradeing your barracks ?

if I understand it right, if you are at the right level, you will get a upgrade, if not, you will not, I think early on, most of us build up a lot of Barracks, and so we go over the level and each time a check comes around, we get a upgrade, so we back off some on building more barracks, but then when we finally catch up, it looks like nothing is going on

well, then again, we should be able to find out soon, I got 20 upgrades with my current game (level states 23.95)

so if I get another one we know we can go over 20 upgrades

(but I wasn't suppost to be playing till the patch came out, but I could say this was a test)

guess I was in the game looking to see if I could get another upgrade, and Eric posted, you were the only post when I wrote mine

crud, at least we can go higher once the patch comes out

strange, any reason on what choices we get ?

(like I once only had massed Arty III as one of my choices, the next time it came up, no Arty was listed (massed) then the next time I and II were listed)

IIRC from the manual it just said that a random selection of upgrades would be available. Mass Art. I,II, and III are the same thing, and I have gone I, III, and finally II before.

Now where is that patch? [:)]

There is no pre-requisite. Those marked III may appear before we get even I or II. [:'(]

I never seem to see Advanced Scouting. Is there a prerequiste for that?

The upgrade choices available are randomly chosen.... The upgrades with Roman numerals are not sequential in any way -- so Massed Artillery I, II, III need not be taken in any particular order.
