Armies Frozen after Surrender

Post by MarcelJV »

I do not know if this has been reported some where or not, so here goes.

I was playing Prussia and fighting Austria. On the turn that Austria surrendered, I ordered two armies into Austrian territory, and Austria ordered three to my capital. When the turn executed, the first message I got was that Austria surrenders to me. Great. The turn finishes and I hurry to get peace terms done. Then I go to order my armies out of Austria and they will not move. No arrows to move them to another provence. At first I thought this was because I did not have free passage through the coutnry, so I waited a turn as it was part of the peace terms that I would have free passage. No luck, my armies are stuck in Austria and his are stuck in my capital. The army that was in Austria on the turn that Austria surrendered was returned to Prussia.

I think this is a bug. I have save but only after not before the surrender.

If you have armies in foreign territory, you need to make free passage a peace term. If you don't have free passage, your armies get stuck. If stuck you can get them out by violating neutrality.

There is a bug involved with this because the program is supposed to turn on violate territory automatically for you in situations like these.

Thanks Eric, I assume there is nothing to be done with the current game to fix this.

Is this corrected in the next patch? I know I should read the readme, but I have not yet.
