Problem with game changing arrival dates on me

Post by Dereck »

I had two ships scheduled to arrive on 02/01/1943 and 04/01/1943 in the database editor.

BUT the game had the 02/01/1943 arrive on time but it CHANGED the date on the 04/01/1943 in the game so that, even though it has my date in the database editor, it still has 419 days before it arrives and I'm at 22 September 1943.

What caused this to happen? I've been playing this damn scenario since February and now to have the game screw me over again like this is frustrating.

If the game won't use the dates I have in my database (which is correct since I checked) what's the use of having a database editor?

I've just checked with a saved game I have from a month ago and the arrival date for this same ship then is 419 days.

It's never counting down and is ALWAYS 419 days so what is going on?

Someone please tell me. This game takes so long to play as it is that this is very quickly ruining what little fun I'm getting out of this anymore.

Are you playing as Japan? If so, then your ship may not be getting the required ship building points to advance the arrival date.

If this is the case, you might need help from one of the experts (I think Irrelevant is the Japan ship building king on the board)

No I'm playing the allies. I had the arrival date originally set to 430201 and the arrival date was ALWAYS 419 days away and never changed. I changed the date to 430301 and ran the first turn and it was okay then. I further changed the date to 430315 but have yet to test run it and see what it is after the first turn.

Not that any of this helps me for my current game in which it's just never going to arrive at all.

I modified scenario 15. And the ship is one of the carriers not included in the original scenario that the US did get (either the Yorktown II or Lexington II).

Thanks for the offer but I already changed the arrival date in my database editor from what I originally had it (430201) and changed it to 430315 and ran the first turn of a new game and it seemed to have changed it so it works now (I hope).

But before I changed the date in the editor I ran the first turn of a new game using the old data and from the first turn the ship was 419 days away from arival and never counted down. I had one saved game from about a month ago and the ship was at 419 days even back then.

This is completely a shot in the dark but are you sure you did not have it arriving at an enemy controlled base? That would cause a ship to not count down.

The arrival location is set to "Delayed" as are a lot of other ships which arrive as reinforcements.
