command line parameters?

Post by fre0n »

Hello everyone!

I've been looking for a comprehensive list of possible command line parameters when starting WitP. I've search some fan sites (Spooky's http://mathubert.free.fr/) and also string search in the forums. I've find some, but not a lot!

The one I'd like to find have to do with a windowed mode, so I can easily acces Instant Messaging, or text, email and computer console.

Any pointers would be appreciated !

Thank you!

IIRC create a shortcut to the desktop with the WITP.exe. Right click to properties and add to the .exe"-w"

Clarification:

To use the new, larger font:
1) Create a shortcut from the EXE (right-click on it then drag & drop it).
2) Right-Click on the new shortcut and choose properties.
3) Add space then -altFont to the far right of the “War in the Pacific.exe" on the Target line, such as “C:\Matrix\War in the Pacific.exe -altFont"

Don't forget the other switches. If you want, add another space then tack one of these 6 on
-ww -wd -dw -dd -colorBlind –deepColor (windowed weekly autosave, windowed daily autosave, full screen weekly, full screen daily, use white text for most common text and initialize game in 32 bit color), such as “C:\Games\War in the Pacific.exe -dd -colorBlind".

Aye ! That is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot guys!
BTW, is there an official/detailed listing of these parameters somewhere ?

In any case, I will try what was suggested by poster.

I copied that from the 1.50 patch notes, so it's as official and detailed as it gets.

Excellent, just tried it, work as intended. The only thing is that the parameters needed to be outside the quotes, so it looks like : "c:\matrix games\war in the pacific.exe" -wd -altFont

Was thinking the params need to be inside.. bleh [8|]

Yup, gotta keep 'em outside the quotes, or Windows get annoyed...
