How are Conf of Rhine, Poland created?

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

How are Conf of Rhine, Poland created?

Post by plasticpanzers »

I must be missing something. How are the minor and
mid range countries/kingdoms created and from what
provinces? Is there a list somewhere on how and who
to liberate or what to do to create Poland, the Kindom
of Bavaria, Confederation of Rhine, etc?

Sorry, but although it tells you what provinces there
is no info that seems to show if you are successful in
creating these new kingdoms. I have over several games
liberated the parts to make the kingdom of Bavaria and
Poland but there is no way to see that this occurs. I
see no new units nor changes on the map. I have tried
as France liberating all of Bavaria and Tyrol but they
seem mad when this is done and historically Tyrol hated
the Bavarians trying to rule them and a major rebellion
broke out. There should be a notation: "Create Kingdom
of Bavaria (Confed of Rhine/Duchy of Warsaw/etc) Y/N?"
with a new area shown on the map as an entity or does
this occur and i am just not doing it right.

It doesn't work that way. If you want to see how it works, play as Spain in 1792; they already have the Kingdom of Naples.

What you see is all the provinces listed as protectorate. No more, nor less. The only diference is that 1st april there are some free levies. In the events screen you will read Kingdom of Naples levied xxx unit.

In the file mapregion.txt you will see the provinces needed to be protectorate and the units it will levy each 1st april.

One problem i have seen is that sometimes you conquer one of such provinces listed in mapregion.txt but then you can't make it protectorate. If you fail just one, then the whole Kingdom will not work.

Also with Bavarian kingdom there is an issue. Depending of the scenario you play, you need some provinces or some others. Search one post of mine asking for this and the answer.

There is currently no such option, but it's an interesting suggestion.

Yes ... Russia had Poland as protectorate in 1792, and though they didn't control anything but Krakow, they got levies each April. Now I control Krakow as Sweden, with most of the Polish provinces as protectorate (though I can build in them and they get part of my feudal levies each year), but I don't get the full levy because Russia still has Poland as protectorate. Not sure how that occurred, but it is interesting. As if I control all of Poland's lands (some direct, some protectorate), but the Polish leadership still hangs onto Russia as "official" protectorate. Interesting to consider in real-life terms. [&:]

These minor kingdoms were an important part of the
wars in this period. i know it may be too late for
it but perhaps when they are created and they are a
protectorate or attached in some way to a major power
a white band around the entire border showing their
status could be added. Just a thought.
