I have decided to start the 2nd unofficial GGWAW PBEM tournement. You will notice that the theme in this tournement is to keep things moving along.

Do NOT sign up if you can not:
1. Do one turn a day on average
2. Do not intend to finish your games
3. Are planning to be away from your computer for more then 8 days(vacation)

I am looking for 20 players (actually 19 + me, I will take the last spot available) 10 will play as Axis and 10 as Allies.

(Edit-it appears we only have enough players to start at round 2)
Round 1 10 vs 10
Round 2 5 vs 5
Round 3 2 vs 2
Final Round 1 vs 1

Advanceing to round 2 is determined by the following process:
1) being 1 of the first 5 winners from the side you are playing
a) if >5 winners then the first 5 to finish there game advance
b) if <5 winners then the winners plus highest scoreing losers advance. The loser(s) with the most points, or if none have points then the loser(s) who made it to the latest game date, in the event of a tie for game date or points then the tieing losing player who finished there game first.

Advanceing to round 3 is determined by the following process:
1) being 1 of the first 2 winners from the side you are playing
a) if >2 winners then the first 2 to finish there game advance
b) if <2 winners then the winners plus highest scoreing losers advance. The loser(s) with the most points, or if none have points then the loser(s) who made it to the latest game date, in the event of a tie for game date or points then the tieing losing player who finished there game first.


Advanceing to Final round is determined by the following process:
1) being the first winner from the side you are playing
a) if >1 winners then the first 1 to finish there game advance
b) if <1 winners then the loser with the most points advance, or if none have points then the loser who made it to the latest game date advance, in the event of a tie for game date or points then thelosing player who finished there game first advances.


Auto Victory
Auto Victory will be achievable via House/Tournement Rule, but will be turned off in the game parrameters screen.

Axis Auto Victory is achieved if Germany controls East and West Germany, All of France, North and South Italy, Moscow and Lenningrad, and has a valid rail link from Berlin to both Moscow and Lenningrad at the end of the WA turn. Also Japan must control Chunking and Manchuria and have a valid rail link from Chunking to Manchuria.

Allied Auto Victory is achieved by the Allies aquireing 50x the Axis Production at the end of Japans turn. (Ex. Axis 2 Allies 100)


All games played with latest version.

FOG on
Advanced Supply on
Fuel on
No auto victory (house rule applies)
Default Fall 1946 End Date

Dropouts and Slow/Stalling Players

Dropouts will cause there opponent to instantly win.

All players have 48hrs from the time they receive a file to return it unless they have notified there opponent via email that they will be away from there computer(out of town) and when they will return the file. No delays of more then 8 days will be allowed for any reason.

If a player defaults on the above rule then there opponent will win at the time of the default.

Note that the way this tourney works, quick games are encouraged, and it is possible to advance to the next round even if you lose your game. It is also possible to not advance even if you win your game if your game runs slower then the winners before you.

I would like to play the Allied side.
I have done 10+ games sofar - had a few oppenents quit out - but never done so myself.
I can usually do multiple turns per day and I always advice my opponent when I am away for more than a full day.

I'd be interested in playing WA. Can play at least one turn per day, until Sep 4th when I go on business trip for two weeks - so hopefully we'll be done before then (or at least I will be :p )

mid Aug for a week...my house electricity will be funky as there is a $50K house refab
in the works.

I would choose axis.

Thanks for your reply MikeB but 3day turns times 24 turns is 72day games. Thats a bit to long per round. I am hoping for more like 30day rounds.

I like the idea of a tournament, sounds like a great idea. Only problem is security. The reload "cheat" (or "I couldn't get replay so I had to reload" reality, which may not nec. be a cheat) makes it difficult to trust results. (I mean, really, that first Axis turn may be replayed a billion times.)

I suspect that such a tournament will be better received when GGWaW goes TC/IP. (If someone mysteriously disconnects, at least you know whether or not you had the game in hand.)

Look forward to your tourney in a couple of months (when the TC/IP bugs are worked out.)

Ok, just sent me your turn......normally i can do 1 turn a day (more if we are in the same timezone), but sometimes i play some online games too which will delay my moves a bit.
