Need help with Banzai

These new expansions from X1 Software add dynamic campaigns and nearly three thousand missions between them to your IL2 Sturmovik, Forgotten Battles, Ace Expansion Pack and Pacific Fighters. The incredible depth and replayability of these new add-ons will give you a very long lasting experience.

I got it working with the Merdge install

I running, IL-2/AEP/BOE/PF/TLD/BANZAI

got Barbarossa, but didn't reinstall it

are you sure it installed to the right path ?

it may of went to a Matrix folder instead of the IL-2 folder (it may even of put a Matrix folder inside of IL-2 !)

I've asked X1 about this, but they're not aware of an installation problem with any configuration (as long as you are patched up with the included patches). I'll ask them again on Monday about this additional information.

There is also a new patch available for Banzai! - I don't believe it would do anything for installation issues, but it's worth a try.

Hi Eric
thanks for looking into it

strange we go around 4 people at least with about the same kind of trouble

one guy did find it in a Matrix folder when he had installed it, when he went back and did the path himself, it worked out right

thanks for the patch link

So how do I get Banzai to work with a merged install of PF? It looks like some files got installed in my Ubisoft\Pacific Fighters\ folder instead of \Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\ folder. Is there an update to Banzai to fix this? Can I copy the files manually? If so, please provide instructions.

okay, first off, what do you have in the other folder ?

is it the DGen, and folders for Missions and campaigns ?

if so, you should be able to copy and place them into the right game

in my missions folder, I have a BANZAI folder when I open the JA missions

in my UN (navy ?) folder for Campaigns, I have a BANZAI fighter folder and a BANZAI bomber folder

so try it and let us know, or if in doubt, post what is in the other folder, and I can check to see how it looks in my game

Strange, for the number of people having trouble with the install, and nobody from BANZAI is even looking or saying anything

(you know, if you want, you could try and do a reinstall, and set the path yourself, the game may be thinking you have it set up different, I know some of the Matrix patches, make a Matrix folder, inside of the Matrix folder when you just click on it)

hope this helps some :(

Okay I went into the game and check

go to single missions and then click on either IJA (?) UN or RAAF and you should have missions under BANZAI (if you have missions for RAAF then it should be right, only RAAF missions I have so far are from BANZAI)

My system info and path info is as follows. I've only ever had PF+FB+AEB installed as a merge install. I am currently running 3.0.4m.

The folder hierarchies of interest are:

Pacific Fighters (I'm guessing Banzai created this folder, but don't know for sure)

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Pacific Fighters\Missions\Campaign
This includes IN JA RA UN subfolders
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Pacific Fighters\Missions\Net
This includes coop subfolder
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Pacific Fighters\Missions\Single
This includes IN JA RA UN subfolders

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Pacific Fighters\banzaimovies

that's it in the PF directory

In

C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles

I have bin, Combat Over Europe, DGen, Missions, NGen, PaintSchemes, etc. (many others). This is my main PF+FB+AEB directory.

It seems like Banzai used the "Pacific Fighters" dir mentioned above that the app is not using.

I am looking at my folders, I do not have a PF folder

so, would suggest, to copy the insides of that and paste them into your IL-2 folder

(it may take a while, but you may want to copy the whole IL-2 folder first, then paste the stuff from the inside of PF into that one, if it works, great, if it don't, oh well)

{by the by, I have the whole game copied 2 times besides the first game}

if you like offline play, would say to try out either BOE or TLDs, they have the Dgen campaigns, instead of the scripted ones that Case Blue/Banzai/Barbarossa have (for me, I like those better)

hope this helps

Hi
over all, would have to say, to check your path when you installed the game, and make sure it installed to the right place and did not just add a new folder to where it was installed

ie if it was suppost to go to Ubisoft\IL-2\PF, that it didn't just make a new Ubisoft folder and place the rest of the stuff inside of that

I had the same problem here installing Banzai to a merged install, and realized that when merged, I still have seperate UbiSoft folders for both IL2FB and PF, all of the game data was in the FB folder, and Banzai was installing to my PF folder. Just had to go to the install and change the path from my standalone pacific fighters folder (empty but still there even after a merged install) to my IL-2 FB folder. Hopefully this helps!

I tried directing the install to my il2 folder and ended up not being able to start the game and reinstalling windows.
