VR Squadron Experience

I'm playing Scen 13, started in 1.5, now patched to 1.6. It's Oct 42 and CVE Nassau has arrived. The two VR squadrons have an av. exp of 36[&:]
Is there any way to edit an existing game to get the experience of the VR pilots up to the US Navy pilot average of 60?

Are they not replacement aircraft for the carriers ?

Yes they are replacement aircraft - I assumed the pilots are replacements as well. ADM Halsey mentioned in another thread that he thought the experience would be tweeked in the 1.6 patch.
