Another Op. Question.

Post by Autoset »

A question about opportunity attacks:

"An air attack from Western France on Scotland does not receive an op attack from planes in England. The time that it did was when I tried to move supplies from a bomber anywhere in Europe to Scotland: Couldn't do it without drawing op attacks from fighters. Confusing, yes...but after spending a half-hour testing, it seems that planes can attack Scotland from France (if they have the range, of course) but Bomber cannot resupply units in Scotland. Not sure why."

Anybody know the solution? Any other map quirks like this to be aware of? Thanks ahead of time for any insight.

I tested this out and did not receive opfire for bombers in Netherlands or West Germany who were supplying Scotland - with substantial WA airforce in England. I forgot to test flying from France. Maybe your flight path was over a seazone containing WA fleets? Sometimes you have to manually tell the planes which way to go to avoid op-fire.

Forwarn,
Thanks for the test.
In the game in question, the bombers did NOT fly over any fleets... I have the save file.

I just tested this too - and was unable to dublicate the error.

If you are willing I would like to see the save you have so we might figure out what the problem is. My email is janbs@mail1.stofanet.dk

Jan,
Solved it. My file was corrupted (my planes in Western France were marked with x's eventhough they hadn't done anything.) I am unable to repeat the test in a non-corrupted file. Thanks for your offer.
