I'd love to see this changed

Gary Grigsby's World At War gives you the chance to really run a world war. History is yours to write and things may turn out differently. The Western Allies may be conquered by Germany, or Japan may defeat China. With you at the controls, leading the fates of nations and alliances. Take command in this dynamic turn-based game and test strategies that long-past generals and world leaders could only dream of. Now anything is possible in this new strategic offering from Matrix Games and 2 by 3 Games.

I'd love to see this changed

Post by Lebatron »

I got to ask this question. Why did the devolopers place the newly gotten tech advances at the bottom of the report page that follows at the end of your turn? I would have preferred it at the top, followed by what I built. In this way, I don't have to keep hitting the pause botton and scolling down to see if I got lucky with my research. I would have modded this myself, because its so annoying, but I don't think thats possible on our end. If you guys at 2by3 are listening, please consider changing this in a future patch. Thanks

I hear ya. That report page flies through when I play.
After 16 years, Civ II still has me in it's clutches LOL!!!
Now CIV IV has me in it's evil clutches!

I would like an option to keep the reports page on the screen until I manually close the screen. Quite a few times I have missed something on the reports screen because I was distracted by something and didn't get a chance to even read the reports.

Just a guess but I believe it has to do with the order of production. The new units are created first before the research is accomplished and thereby do not benefit from the new research.

Probably would be a good change - but I don't think its a high priority. You can always pause the screen and scroll down to take a look at whether you received research upgrades. BTW - Since both available units and units in the production queue count to the cost of research - there is no reason why the order shouldn't be reversed (i.e. research upgrades first then what you built).

I agree that it will not be a high priority, but it should be added to the wish list for the next patch.
