entrenchment level

Hello all,

I read the manual and the pwhints and there several questions I don't have vwery clear:
How the entrenchment rules work?
Do the LCU pass an entrenchment check every turn to increase the level? and if so based on what? I mention these because I see units with different entrenchment levels in the same base
Also, do bombardment affect the entrenchment at all? Could it reduce the entrenchment level as in WIR? (I think)
Other thing, I don't see the point of the HQ to TF command, why would anybody want to have an HQ on a TF? It doesn't look very useful.
