NEW GUY NEEDS SOME HELP

Post by saber »

First of all, thank you, to anyone who takes the time to try to help me. I stumbled across this game by accident, it looks like something I would really enjoy. I love controling EVERYTHING! Ive run in to quite a bit of trouble getting the game to run. First of all, Im on a HP Pent. 333 64 ram running Win 98. Everytime I run the game I get the following error...
The program tried to execute an invalid instrution
Fault location 00c0:FF60
interupt in service none

I tried the rem space thing in my config.sys like another thread suggested. It didnt work. I wouldnt care to just run it in DOS, but I cant get it to run.
I type CD\ and get the c prompt then Ive typed every thing in the world I can think of, and cant get it to start. If someone can please tell me how to run it in DOS, maybe I will be lucky enough for it to work. Thank you very much.

Sorry you're having trouble, Saber.

It's probably a memory problem you're having, but I'm not sure. There are a bunch of posts in this forum that discuss the memory issues. Just search using the keyword "mem" or "memory", and hopefully you'll find something to solve your problem. I also run under Win98 but have not had any problems.

You can try to run it in DOS, but this may solve the problem. In DOS, you will need to navigate to the correct game directoy. On my machine it's c:\matrixgames\pacific war the matrix project\. Once you get to the correct directory, run "pac.exe" and it should start. To navigate from the C prompt you may need to change directories as follows:

from C:\

cd matrix~1

cd pacifi~1

pac.exe

Hopefully, this will work for you.
