When Plans work out right

Post by Hard Sarge »

been chasing some UK troops across the East

and they found a Province that I didn't even know I owned, and went to the inn for the night, of course, they didn't want to pay the bar tab, so sort of took over the place

so, I sent a small army over to kick them nonpaying bums out

of course, just as I do, Turkey Declares war on me

look at the map and I got a good 180,000 men coming my way and my little Army is going to have to be brave and bare it

the lay out of the land and all, only one province for the Truks to come though, so Armee du Slovok, decides to block it, with all 51,000 men at its command

Armee du Hammer, tries to slide into place behind the block

the dawn brings with it 192,000 Turks, the Inf gets tired from all the rushing back and forth between Square and line, but it holds the Turks in place, while the 2 Arty Divs go to work

the Turks are all but able to surrend my Army, but large holes are blown though there lines, each time they try to close, my Supply boys take volly after volly, but hold there ground !!!! and keep the ammo moving to the front, soon, the Turks give up and run away

18936 Turks are killed and 4 Divs are captured

the Turks decide to run for the safty of home, only to find Armee du Hammer waiting for them

115,000 Frenchmen, vs 153,000 Turks

the French set up in front of a woods, with a large hill to the right flank, the Cav try to cover the hill

the Turks, try to use the hill as cover and flank my postion, half the Turks try to charge my main line, but are cut to peices, 2 weaken Divs are cut down to the man, as they move forward, another is cut down soon afterward, as it sees its comrades are gone, and tries to leave the general area

many lives are saved as the hill is in the way of the French from the retreating Turks

42,189 Turks are killed and 6 Divs are Captured

(somehow, 4 Divs are freed, maybe in the confusion ?)

the once proud Turkish Armies of the morning are now a shaken 89,000 Strong, and streaming for home

the Turks have another 192,000 troops in the Capitol, wonder if they will bring them out

Shucks.. you are such a sweet guy... first you help the swedes with there food supply problems and now your VSO boys are showing johnny turk the way to keep his larder stocked. God bless the boys of the Hammer.

Give a man a loaf and he will eat it, give him the bayonet and he will never eat again!

you got that right

LOL

2nd month
I am out of money and supplies, so decide to go for broke and end this war, and du Hammer heads south

only the Turks don't want me going that way

152,000 Truks come my way (?) and I now got 103,000 in du Hammer

this time was a slaughter, had a river from my right flank, and open land in front of me

the Turks are saved this time by rain !

40,509 Turks go down

there are now 116,000 in Nish, 136,000 in Const, and 52,000, in Styria

I move an army of 50,000 to help out my Aus friends (they have been good Allies since I all bout ruined them)

when the Turks were my Allies, they had over 1 million men in there Armies

the last months battle added a -1024 point hit to there morale, they may break before I reach Const

errr
Cowards, with a Captiol K
they ran from there Cap, leaving only 37,000 behind to defend it, who ran as soon as they seen the blue of my uniforms (then again, maybe the glare off of the gun barrles had something to do with it)

14,000 Turks go down

the army in Aus ran also

51,000 in Croatia
64,000 in Rumelia (trying to cut me off ?)
and 23,000 in Izmir (nice place Izmir, nice port, Friendly people)

morale at -981, but they got plenty of food now

ooops
forgot a importent detail

the seige, du Hammer lost 18,000 troops during the seige

the Turks attack

with 64,000 to my weaken du Hammer of 71,000 !

they lose, and another 17,026 Turks go down
6 Divs captured

51,000 in Nish
35,00o, in Rumelia

my 2 chaser armies are closing in, Zara will fall this turn (nobody home anymore) so that army is on the move, du Slovok should be freed to move next month

what is left of the Turk Army, if they don't give up, will be trapped

morale still at -981 ?

So a seige attack has killed more of your front line vets than 4 pitched battles could? [8|]Bummer.... where are the CF militia when you want them!

Damn it! I keep catching myself humming "you cant touch this", "oh yeah!", and "It's Hammer time!" [:@]

You have to change your armies name [:-] or hurry up and finish the turks, or I could loose what little peace of mind I still have................. [X(]

the Turks attack me
32,000 to 71,000, they lose 17,000 and 2 POWs

the 2nd army was late and attacked later on

50,000 to 70,000, they lose 24,000 and 2 POWs

Zara with no troops in the city held off my army ?

But Turkey finally seen the light and gave up

du Hammer goes on R@R with a strength of 67,000 men !
du EAsu comes out with 39,000
and
du Slovok ends with 48,000

Attriction/supply cost me about 30-35% of my trooops !

battle and seiges about 10%

very suprised, Russia stayed out of the war

maybe they finally learned the lesson

HARD_Sarge

I can only find 1 Turk Army with any troops, and it has 8,000 men

I think Armee du Hammer could compare

there have been very few Armies that have seen it and stayed on the battle field, must run as soon as they show up

if I could ever get that 3rd Corps to join up

I think I could win a war, just be saying "if you don't give me what I want, du Hammer falls"

What does this say about the AI?

I almost don't want to fight Detailed battles anymore...against even incredible odds victory is absolutely assured. [>:]

I would not blame it on the AI

the Turks for the most part have very few troops that had morale above 1.70, at that level it does not take much to spook

also, as a test, I made a very Heavy Arty Army, I believe du Hammer, has 10 Arty divs in it, not many people are going to build armies like this (I hope)

if possible, would rather have a Army with 3 corps
1st Corps 5 or 6 Rif Inf
2nd Corps 1 Hv Art, 2 Art and 3/4 Inf
3rd Corps 2 Hv Cav/Lan, 2 Cav/Irr Cav and 2 Horse Arty

I think that would be a much better Army, but for pure firepower, du Hammer is nasty (in fact, the Corps Polish Lancers was suppost to join this army, 4 Lancers and 2 Hv Art, but they never were able to join up)

I don't fault the AI in battle, it did pretty much what it should of done, the on map AI, I think needs some work, it should never of went to war with me, I was Turkey's only friend
