Ceding Provinces

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Ceding Provinces

Post by jimkehn »

Two instance in my current solitaire game as Russia. One, I submitted a treaty with Turkey asking them to (as part of the treaty) cede Bessarabia. The events said Turkey agreed, but I don't have it. The other instance was when we allies defeated France, and as part of the Terms of Surrender, I asked for Tyrolia but never got that on either. There were, I think 7,000 VP's, as that was the number beside the French Flag on the design your own treaty page. I never could find a place that told how many points "clause" was costing. Any help here would be appreciated.

I don't know if either of these apply to you but I've seen at least two situations will you won't get the provinces you ask for.

First, I think if the enemy surrenders to multiple nations at once, and someone else asks for that territory, there's a chance you won't get it. A strong chance in my opinion but not sure on the specifics.

Second, if the territory is being held by a non-allied (or perhaps even allied?) nation and is still at war with the enemy, then you won't get the territory either.

That's what I've noticed at least.

Joram's right - those are the two situations.

If it is occupied, you might still get it later.

Typically, though, the AI took a glory hit for failing to do as they promised in the treaty,

Workaround - wait a month or two for the other surrender-receivers to do their treaties before you do yours.

Thanks for the answers. In the first instance, I wasn't at war. I just asked for the province in return for some other stuff, and Turkey ratified the agreement. Perhaps the AI just decided to take the glory hit. I got it anyway in a later war when Turkey surrendered to me and Austria. In the second instance, France surrendered to all of us, and no one else got the province. It stayed with France. BTW, I found where the VP totals are deducted per clause. Simple really. I am sure I used the terms of surrender type treaty [:'(]
This is a fun game. I musta played it 10 hours yesterday in the various shifts I put in. I hate admitting spending this much time on just a game, but what the hell.
