Polish Army Sits Tight

Playing as Russia in 1792 scenario. I go to war with Poland in 1795. Poland is controlled by Spain. Prus, Aus, and Turkey are also at war with Spain, so it's a free-for-all in Poland. I notice a large Polish force in Prussian territory, but when I click on them, it says they are neutral. They are even stacked together with a Prussian corps. They sat there doing nothing while their country was swallowed up.

It's odd that Spain was in charge of Poland, but that Prussia seemed to be in control of the Polish military units. So units all the way from Spain were fighting in Poland, but the Poles themselves did nothing.

I'm guessing from the lack of reponses on this that it has already been reported. Can anyone guide me to a thread about it so I can read up on it?

This looks like a first to me. I do not recall any other thread with this specific problem that was not related to units getting stuck as a result of a surrender or the ceeding of a province.

I'm guessing the Prussians were lent the Polish army by the Spanish either voluntarily or through a previous peace condition, and then when the war broke out those troops remained in Prussian service.

In my last game, the polish army also behaved very strange. I attacked Poland as Prussia, while it was still free. First, I fought some battles against them. Then, two polish armies retreated to my province East Prussia. There they didn´t do nothing anymore. No move, no siege, no plunder, nothing. Simply standing there for several turns.

Actually now that I think of it, I was playing 1792 and attacked Poland as Russia, fought the Polish army and defeated it, and then went about the business of taking what was rightfully mine.

After a couple of months, both Austria and Prussia declared on Poland, and I watched the Polish army march into East Prussia, figuring good, let the Huns deal with the Poles.

I abandoned that game later without Poland being conquered, but the Polish army pretty much stayed in East Prussia, not bothering the Austrians besieging Warsaw, and not trying to recapture adjacent provinces that were now under my control.

no, if this was the case, then they would show up as Spainish troops, instead of Polish

you will see the Polish Cav and Polish Army fighting for who ever takes the land over

what this looks like, is Poland was under somebodies control, and then freeded, but the other provinces stayed with who ever had them

may be part of two different bugs

(one, where if you liberate (insurection) the cap Province in a mulit Province group, the provinces that are protectorates, change over to controlled lands)

which then as you see it, the hassle is, Poland is being fought for, but the Poles are not in the battle, as Poland is not at war, the sides that control there land are
