Worth every penny of the $70. I have probably put in 1000 hours on this game since I bought it. No other game except pacwar has every came close (well maybe WIR[:D] ). Most of the games I have bought since (at 50 bucks a pop! have gained my interest less than 10-20hours - some less than an hour). This was without a doubt the best $70 I have ever spent. I would have paid double - no questions asked.

I don't think I would have paid the equivalent of $150 for it, and I had to think about the $70 for a while first, but I've never regretted that I actually ended up spending my money.

Hah! That was hardly the first carrier I've lost, and it won't be the last either. That's why it's called "friction"...

You know what's really sad is the fact the poor sap(jarhead) can't afford this great game and is going to miss out on the fun and in the same token miss out on gaining my respect. Instead of trying to justify your first post/rant, how about a simple "i'm sorry" ? Takes a man to admit he made a mistake. And one more thing, insulting moderators is hazerdous to one's health [;)]
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

Is this kind of thing going to be "moderated" or does that door still only swing one way?

I first heard about WITP from Computer Gaming World Magazine.....I then found out that it was available through Matrix only.....I then found out that I would have to pay $70 for a download copy.

My first thought was that the price was pretty steep (yes, that word was steep, not sheep). Since I bought WITP (a year ago) I have bought 3 other games at $50/each. Those three games are now collecting dust in my collection. However, I am still playing WITP and seeing as how I have three PBEM games going, I forsee myself playing WITP for at least the next 5 years, if not more.

So, "is the game worth it?"....it is for me. In my opinion, this was the best computer game purchase I have made in the last 10 years.

And yes Jarhead, you did come across as pretty pompous. You have expressed your dislike of this comment "If you don't like the price, don't buy it", but this is a consumer issue so that comment applies. Based on the comments and the number of people I have seen on this forum over the past year, I would say that there has been only one or two people that have bought the game that weren't happy with the price they paid.

In my country average mothly salary is less than 500 euro.
I spent 68 euro for digital download. I didnt hesitate too much. I never regretted.

Just dont tell me to change my screenname to "Sucker".

If you are real fan of WWII in Pacific you dont have other options than to buy this game. The market is small and competiotion will be never achieved. You will never choose which game to buy, but you will have only the choice whether to buy THIS game or not. You can be glad that someone released the game of such complexity in this genre.

And this game is GREAT.

Jarhead,

Please allow me to offer you some advice, and I'm trying to do this in the most congenial and diplomatic manner I am able too, as it is not my intention to insult or offend you. Try to relax a bit. This is a no win situation for you. One against many.

To the group at large, I could recommend that a polite and diplomatic response to Jarhead would help to difuse this situation. Though I admit that a slap in the face can easily cause a unthought out reaction. However, I'd like to think that we can maintain a friendly environment here.

Not that I don't enjoy the friendly insults that get shot through here.
But come on guys stop knocking PBR. I grew up drinking that stuff. Back then it was $1 a six pack. A dollar for gas and a dollar for beer I was all set for the night.
The world has never seen a more impressive demonstration of the influence of sea power upon history. Those far distant, storm-beaten ships, upon which the Grand Army never looked, stood between it and the dominion of the world. -- Alfred Thayer Mahan

I appreciate the post and your intentions...I also respect your message...that being said, I like the odds and think I have you all right where I want you...[:'(]
