Aging gamer populotion?!

Bah!

Knavey and I are brothers, have written into our wills that our sons (Matthew (mine) = 1 year, and Bryan (Dave's) = 2 months), will be taking over our PBEM games (the games will probably still be going long after we've flopped over dead).

But yes, my son will learn to play "Air Force" and "Dauntless" as soon as he can read a maneuver card.

"You want to play checkers? Phhhhtttt. Checkers is for sissies. I'll show you a real game. This one is "Squad Leader". Forget "skipping around board", or "jumping" over the enemy, in Checkers. In "Squad Leader" you use artillery to kill the bastards. And your Uncle Dave (Knavey), has got "Flat Top" and "The Longest Day". One day, you and I are gonna go over to Uncle Dave's house, and successfully defend Normandy against Dave & Bryan in "The Longest Day".

Oh. And don't tell your mother I taught you the word "bastard".

A new generation of gamers is in the making!

I'd be careful calling me a pervert when referring to Guinness, Buttdemus. Guinness is obviously a fetisch drink.

P.S. You can't claim you let me win due to football. My victory was decided a day before the match and our draw (where I was 1000 points ahead of you I might add) finished before the match ended.

And maybe I knew IN ADVANCE (playsound(thunderclap.mp3)_at_volume(1000%))!!!

And it's not my fault that you can't spell fetisch properly... Too much Guinness, probably.

Had to mount the boards on a 4x8 sheet of plywood. A friend and I had been playing a game for over a year.....then his damn cat decided to rearrange our counters. The cat went through 5 of it's 9 lives that night.[:@]

HPS has a pretty good computer program that is similar to The Longest Day. Can remember the name of the game at the moment.

<edit> It is called "Panzer Campaign: Normandy '44"

The board game was the whole Normany Campaign from Airborne drops to the Fulga Gap. I think each turn was 12 hours (computer game is 4 hours each turn) . One player would move...other player had defensive fire...player one would offensive fire....end of turn...Player 2 would move....etc. It would take 2+ hours to go through 1 turn (both players moving etc.) Very fun game.

Think of WitP, for just Normady, in even greater detail (if you can believe it).

All of Normandy, in 2km hexes, with company-sized units.
