Cossacks

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Cossacks

Post by siRkid »

Ok today is the first day that I've been able to play all day long as France and the Cossacks are making me nutts! I seal off my boarders and I still have them popping-up like fleas on an old hound. Please find a way to make the use of them more realistic.[&o]

I have suggested that cossacks should have to operate within one province of an army or corps, to try and stop them wandering all over europe, that or there should be no independent cossacks outside Eastern Europe, if they are not part of a corps or an army they stay "home".

I think that would work.

Excellent suggestion Ian. Hope they follow this up. Me too are getting totally crazy from wandering Cossacks, While there is no Russian army to be seen anywhere within our near my borders.

You ridiculous French people. Enough of your whiny complaints about the Russian Cossack! You fail to realize a much greater threat is afoot:

They shouldn't be disrupting guarded depots in 1.1. Is this working properly?

Polish Plumbers have not disrupted any depots under 1.1 so far.

As for cossacks, I rarely use depot supply if I can avoid it (it means instant starvation for French civilian population, and bankruptcy for the state) but I had not noticed them not still freeing prisoners and wiping out depots where ever they trek. So, I am unaware of any change in behavior from 1.0 to 1.1.

Its not about disrupting. Its about seeing them wandering about without a Russian army close. i.e. What are those chaps doing in Paris while their main army is in Warsaw?

No...not oehlala chasing the beautiful french broads....[:D][:D]

They shouldn't be able to free prisoners or wipe out depots (in home territory) as long as these things are guarded by at least one ungarrisoned division... let me know if you spot them doing these things to guarded POW's/depots in home territory.

They need a minimal level of strength (3 divisions I believe) to prevent production.

I'm playing as Sweden, at war with Russia, have all of Denmark as a protectorate, and the friggin' cossacks are in every single province.

All I can do now is play Wack-A-Mole with the 30 Cossacks that are swarming my territories.

This can't be working as intended, is it?

In a patch the "foot cossacks" need to be taken out of
the game entirely. They never existed. There were
militia unit created but they were eventually worked into the line units as replacements. mounted cossack
units were the raiding type. Also it also really
annoys me that on the map the foot cossacks seem to
be standing there with their hands in their pockets!!
Talk about arrogant!! LOL!
