Forum Question

Post by Forwarn45 »

Can I move one of my threads? If so - how do I do this? Also - how do I create a link to an existing thread? Any help is appreciated.

I think only moderators can move a thread. As for creating a link, you click on the link button that appears over the text portion of the post you are creating and then fill in the needed info.
All understanding comes after the fact.

To link a thread you do this:
- go to the thread
- right click, select properties, copy the URL that shows in properties
- go to the post you are making
- click "link"
- copy the url and type in the text you want shown.

Mind, you cannot just use the URL in your brower. For some reason that does not seem to work - not for me anyway. It will link to the login page for forums.

As for moving threads - I dont know.

I hope this helps.

Yes - I was having that problem with the browser link. Your suggestion seems to work Jan, thanks!

You are welcome.

Its an old trick I figured out on other boards with similar reluctance to have threads linked.

Thanks guys,
That was of of those questions I been meaning to ask. If I had known before, I could have been using this technique for my mod posts. Now I can set up a link to go to where my mod is posted rather than telling poeple where to find it. That will make things so much easier for me.
