What is the current estimate of a release day for the corrections?

Another miniscule point:

In CHS, the RN Corsair is represented by the Corsair III/IV. Both, it seems, were the F4U-1D, only produced by different manufacturers. The RN took receipt of 95 Corsair I's (F4U-1), 510 Corsair II's (F4U-1A), 430 Corsair III's (F4U-1D or F4U-4), and 857 Corsair IV's (F4U-1D) for a total of 1,892 aircraft. An order for an additional 120 Corsair IV's was cancelled. Also subsumed somewhere amongst these numbers are 200 F4U-1C's, with 4 20mm guns rather than the usual armament.

Thus the majority of Corsairs in the FAA inventory were Mk III's & IV's (F4U-1D's).

19 FAA sqd's were equipped with Corsairs.

However a look at the aircraft actually used by the sqd's suggests that the Mk I's II's were the dominant versions in practical terms. As (if) we can't have both, it could be argued that the "average" FAA Corsair sqd. during the period would be equipped with the Corsair II (being the major production model over the Corsair I). Furthermore, it seems that the majority of sqd's actually seeing combat in the Pacific were wholly or partially equipped with Corsair I/II's, while the Johnny-come-lately's turned up with the III/IV's.

Jim and everyone,

I changed the 5 Japanese square divisions so that they will only replace losses to the strength of a triangle division. 486 squads

Thought I would bump this as this is the reason behind the new CHS v1.x soon to be released...

Yes thanks. Just the forum I was looking for.

Have a proposal:

Assuming there is never any chance to see the following A/C in the Combat replay I would like to suggest we delete them from the planetop palette in favor of adding new skins, if you will for the Chinese/Dutch/Brit/Aussie aircraft that appear in the game as a generic US top.

The planes are: All Transports from both sides. As far as I can tell none of them have any defensive weaponry so would not appear in game.

This nets 6 new slots for tops on the Jap palette, and 8 slots for the Allies. This alone gives me lots of leeway to do unique tops for aircraft that currently use a generic top.

Further I think MOST land-based recon aircraft NEVER appear in game and could be deleted as well. Ship-based Recons typically carry some kind of bomb for night attacks and COULD very well appear in game.

If this is to be pursued, we would need to reference the new art for the aircraft such ast the Chinese B-25, P-40, Dutch Avenger I, Aussie A-20s, Russian A-20s ;), etc. in the new Database file.

What do you think? If you are concerned about time it would be very easy to decide which slots would be used and just replicate the current top there as a place holder until I can create the new art.

This might be a non-issue as it isn't possible to reference DIFFERENT bitmaps for the same aircraft...unfortunate.

noticed some Jap Aircraft are not pointing to the correct bitmap in the database.

Lily II currently point to Bitmap 65. Needs change to BMP 74(this change will not affect the planeside)

G4M2 Betty needs to be changed from BMP 28 to BMP 80
(this change WILL affect the planeside. Need to move planeside to BMP 80)

It also seems there are some discrepancies in the allied files.

Both will require additional planeside changes:

P-38F is in Slot 203---needs to point to BMP slot 237
Also need new Planeside in slot 237 as the CHS currently uses duplicate art from the P-38G in slot 165

F-4 Lightning in 206---needs to point to BMP slot 242
Also need new Planeside in slot 242 as the CHS currently uses duplicate art from the P-38G in slot 165

How about giving the Wirraway planeside RAAF markings? Are there any Wirraway equipped RAF sdq's other than W Flight?
