Editing/importing Graphics

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Editing/importing Graphics

Post by JamesR »

I am trying to slighty mod spwaw to include early to mid 50s equipment. I've added tanks such as the M41 bulldog and the T54. The biggest issue I am running into is simply the graphics. Right now my M41s look like hellcats and the T54s look like T44s. I have found out how to change terrain and object graphics, but I cant figure out how to change the tank graphics. Would it be possible to import graphics from the other SP games such as sp3 or spmbt?

yes i used the T54 from sp3 for SPWAW

you just have to find some open SHP slots...plus there are still some of the modern icons in the SHP folder, just not being used.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I am still a little lost. I dont fully understand how the SHP files are organized. For example, if I look at the m46 patton in the oob editor, it list an icon of 941. I can not find a 941shp file anywhere. I found an icon data list text file in the SHP folder. I found the M46 listed as follows:

Code: Select all

{25325,25326}, //941.M-46 Patton

I have no idea where to go from here. How do I load this file up in ShpEd.

Could you step me through the process. What I would like to do is create a new tank, let say a M-47. I created it with the oob editor. Now I would like to grab the M47shp file from a different source (winspmbt) and add it to whats already in there and give it a unique icon number.

I checked out the site in your sig. It looks like maybe I should be posting this over there. I found a thread that comes close to showing me what to do but I still got lost.

Thanks

In your SPWAW main folder there is a master Icon list that really helps...[:)]
