MFC Error when ending turn in PBEM

Post by Mynok »

I believe it is in msvcirt.dll.

What other info is needed to track this down?

Playing version 1.1?

Which nation is ending the turn?
Does it produce a valid save file for that turn?
What are system and OS specifications?
Have other players duplicated the MFC error?
Have you received it more than once?
If so, does it happen every time or does it depend on things you do during the turn?

Nation is Spain. It does not create a valid save file.

I have not heard of this error from anyone else, not have I sent the file to someone to attempt to duplicate it. I have a save file which gives me the error every time. This is the first time I have had an MFC in this game.

We thought of possible save file corruption and resent using compression, but that did not help.

Windows XP Pro SP 2
Athlon XP 3000+ 2.1 Ghz
1 GB RAM

nVidia GeForce4 MX 4000 with latest drivers.
WDC WD740GD SATA HD

I have the save if you want to look at it.

Yes please, I would like to look at the save file. Would you please zip the files and send them to ericbabe@west-civ.com? I also have not heard of this report before -- though there is a possibility it is related to a buffer overflow error I found in 1.0/1.1 (that wasn't creating an MFC error but it's possible it could have under certain circumstances).
