Getting reinforcements for detailed battle

Once I've realised a battle is going bad...usually because I'm outnumbered 4 or 5 to 1, I let the computer finish it off.

Magically the computer calls in reinforcements from a neighboring province...I can't find any control on that screen to call them myself. Am I missing something, or is this an "AI-helper"? I know my opponents always get reinforcements from neighboring areas.

The button appears in the lower right of the screen if you have troops you could potentially call in - below the retreat button, from memory. You can summon allied armies/corps - its lovely for Spain to summon a Grand Armee as reinforcements!

You can only summon one army or corps each day (if an army, they bring their constituent corps along).

remember, if there are troops you can pull it will show up, if there are not troops close by, it will not

I think in quick combat, the reinforce botton is always there
