HELP! When I open the game it restarts my PC!

HELP! When I open the game it restarts my PC!

I just downloaded the 3.0 game today. I had no trouble with anything until I click on the 'play the game' button. I get as far as the credits and sometimes to the setup, but then the screen goes blue and it says that I have the game in a window(even though its full screen)and to click on any button to go to full screen, but when I do it either brings me back to the same error page or restarts my whole PC!
PS;Im using Windows98

Anybody heard of these symptoms?

Make sure when you click on properties it has "full screen" in the mech.exe properties.
