install error

Post by bspqr »

Hi, I have downloaded World at War #5 twice now and when trying to install the game I get a message "error in decompressing?" - I think that's what it said. When I try to open files on the game menu some open fine and work great. However, the actual game program will not work. Any suggestions? :(

Which file does it mention when you get the error?

Hi, the entire mesage is:

C\matrixgames\Steelpanthersworldatwar\SND\Stream\vid998.smk

"a decompression error has been detected #7"

File CRC Mismatch - Data integrity error

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

The full installation pacgacke has problem with that file. The file should be located in <steelpathdir>/snd/stream. If you have old version of the game use it's vid998.smk file or download the file spwaw upgrade package or in emergency you can get it from my site www.ee.oulu.fi/~cirrus/vid998.zip

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the "vid998" file. Where do I have to put the file? I am not good at computer stuff, but I will learn.

Thanks ;)
