Hows the AI?

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Hows the AI?

Post by BossGnome »

I am downloading the game right now... can't wait till it finishes! How's the AI in this game? I know playing PBEM with the AI is not a good idea, but how good is it to just play with by itself? Is it anything similar to say... the RTW AI? By that I mean will it just sit back and do nothing on easy difficulties, while on hard difficulties making it "you vs the world"? How logical is it in its diplomacy?

Thanks!![:'(]

hehe, finally gave in ??? :)

the AI is not overly bad

it will suprise you as nations, it will gang up on you, and it will join in with you

if you are doing good, you will make enemies, if you are doing bad, you will make untrusty friends

the battle AI is not bad, and in testing is getting better, the main point here is still the human is a better judge of when to go for the throat

deploy your line wrong, or break your line too early, and it can hurt you, but over all, don't think it will really beat you in many detail battles (it is getting better)

middle of the game, put 3 armies into Aus and then have Spain and England break there Alliance with you and see Prussia join in an Alliance with both of them, will make you sweat a little

The strategic AI is MUCH better than RTW. And the strategic part of the game is much more detailed. And better.

As far as the tactical AI, hard to compare since its turn based vs. RTS. I've yet to lose a battle
where the forces are equal or better but I have been beat when outnumbered and thought the AI did a
fairly decent job of manouvering. But I could say the same about RTW which once you got the game
mechanics down was pretty easy to beat.

I hated RTW, I sold the lousy game on ebay. WHat a piece of junk that game is. Big deal, so the graphics look pretty.
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

RTW's diplomacy was just too damn bad. But I do believe barbarian invasion will introduce new and interesting elements into the game, as well as a darker, more gruesome flavor to it... but then again this is OT...[:-]
