Game Won't Start

I've downloaded SP WaW (over 20 hours) and installed it OK. On the main menu everything works fine except when I click on Play nothing happens except for the sound of gunfire. What has gone wrong? Is there a file missing or did i do something wrong? I tried re-installing - no joy. Do I have to try downloading again? I desparately want to play this game. Any help would be appreciated.

hi..dl the VID998.smk file(under extras)..put that in the snd folder(i think that is the one)..i had the same prob..but this fixes it!!..

You might try making a short cut that points to mech.exe and try to run the game from there.

You also might have gotten tangled up with the incorrect VID998.SMK file. But, that would depend upon how you upgraded.

Recommend that you read the posts about installation problems - there seems to be several. Note which way you upgraded before you read so you'll know if the troubles discussed and the fix will work for you.

In my case, I had to download the newer vid998.smk file to cure my problems.
