v5.0 sound problem?

v5.0 sound problem?

The game is giving me this buzzing sound (like a radio out of tune) whenever I quit the current game and go back to main menu. For now, rebooting my computer seems to fix it, but this is a re-occuring problem. I remember someone also having this problem posted earlier back, but what do I do to fix it?

I get the same thing when I go to the Prefs menu and come back to the battle screen. It sounds like the music tracks are corrupted. I turned the music off and have no problems anymore, but I have no music either and the soundtrack is pretty good. I'm using a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1.
If it bleeds, we can kill it.

Oops, this is v5.01 that I have the sound problem with. I uninstalled it and put back v5.0 instead and it seems to work fine now. So I guess this is a bug in v5.01.

It is not just a 5.01 problem. I had the odd distorted sound in 5.0. Turning the music off did not make it stop. I eventually just turned my speakers off to make it go away. It is intermittent. Played all day at school today with no problem. Started again tonight and the weird sound came back.
